Stormy seas forecast for Wednesday have forced Virtu Ferries to cancel its trips - but it has amended its schedule on Tuesday, changing the time of the scheduled evening return trip, and adding another later trip, to cope with the additional traffic this will cause.

The company said on its Facebook page that it will be operating as follows on Tuesday:

VR100 Dep. MLA 05:00 hrs / Arr. POZZ06:45 hrs (scheduled)
VR101 Dep. POZZ 18:00 hrs / Arr. MLA19:45 hrs (amended)

VR110 Dep. MLA 21:00 hrs / Arr. POZZ22:45 hrs (extra)
VR111 Dep. POZZ 00:00 hrs (n/d) / Arr. MLA 01:45 hrs n/d (extra)

The Met Office is reporting a West wind of up to Force 7 on Wednesday and Thursday, with the seas forecast to be rough to very rough.
