Stockholm-based Besedo is to set up a centre in Malta to cater for its operations with regard to content, contact and abuse management for the internet and media industry worldwide, particularly the iGaming industry.

The centre will create 200 jobs over three years.

Information Technology Minister Austin Gatt, who met company officials today, said the project in Malta forms an integral part of the group’s strategy and business expansion programme. Discussions on this project development were initiated early in 2007.

The Malta project is expected to generate €5 to €10 million in new contracts from outsource work that Besedo has negotiated with various clients.

Besedo has been in business since 2002 and has since registered growth rates of between 50% to 100% per annum. It recently set up a company in Malaysia and restructured its own set-up in anticipation of their Malta project.
