During this morning's session on the Borza the share prices of MaltaPost plc and Malta International Airport plc continued to rise. The equity of the postal operator advanced by 6.25% to €0.85 - the highest level in over 2 years. Following today's steep rise, MaltaPost's share price is 21.4% higher than the level at the start of the year as almost 2 million shares traded in the past 4 months.

Moreover MIA's share price increased by 2.2% helping the equity consolidate its position as the best performer on the Official List with a year to date appreciation of over 33%.

Elsewhere, the share price of Bank of Valletta plc edged 0.3% higher to €3.41 following yesterday's 2.1% gain. BOV touched a high of €3.45 at the start of today's session as the market eagerly awaits the publication of the March 2010 interim results due next Friday.

Five other equities were active and all closed the day unchanged. The share price of HSBC Bank Malta plc held on to the €3.08 level ion increased volumes of 16,430 shares with Middlesea Insurance plc trading again at the €0.70 level in anticipation of the publication of the 2009 full-year results later on this afternoon. These results will include the significant losses from the Italian company Progress Assicurazioni SpA which has since been put into liquidation.
