The government is to introduce a stipend for those young people, aged not more than 25 years, who opt to carry out voluntary work after graduating from tertiary education.

Finance Minister Tonio Fenech also announced in the Budget speech that credits will be given to those young people who do voluntary work in Malta or abroad.

NGOs which conform to the Voluntary Organisations Act will be exempted from income tax, and €70,000 is being allocated as assistance to them.
