Steve Mifsud has won the Australian National Championship for the fourth time in a row.

He won the snooker title in an emphatic manner. In the quarter-final against Glen Wilkinson, Mifsud emerged victorious 5-2. From then on he did not lose any more frames. In the final, he had an easy match, beating Shaun Budd 6-0.

By landing the Australian national title four times in succession, Mifsud has now equalled Max Williams's record. The latter won the title seven times in eight years during which he was also runner-up in the World Championship.

In winning the previous three national titles, Mifsud beat Neil Robertson, Quentin Haan and Johl Younger in the respective finals.

Mifsud was crowned IBSF world champion in 2002 in Egypt. He represents Australia at this year's World Championship in Holland between November 20 and December 4.
