The Best of NeoCon Awards, sponsored by Contract magazine, IIDA and Merchandise Properties Inc., recognise innovative and functional products that enhance the quality of life at the workplace.

Steelcase Inc. received a total of nine Best of NeoCon Awards, taking home six gold and three silver awards.

Among the winners of this year's gold awards was Steelcase's Universal Storage platform in the Storage category.

Based on several years of research uncovering how users access, manage, use and store information and objects, Universal Storage was designed to grow and change with user needs, providing a wide variety of configurations to accommodate workers' different information management needs and approaches.

Additional gold winners were PolyVision Corp. for the Impulse™ LTX Multimedia Whiteboard System in the Workplace Technologies category; expansion of the Bix™ product platform, designed to support collaborative worksettings for large groups, by Metro for Alternative Office.

Brayton International in the Seating category: Executive Desks category for its Switch™ Executive chair; the Designtex Group in the Healthcare Fabrics category for the Cheek to Cheek Crypton™ Collection, and Vecta for the au lait table in the Tables: Conference and Training category.

Each of these products demonstrates Steelcase's ability to set the bar in aesthetics, form and function for the contract furniture market.

"Steelcase is proud to receive the distinction of these awards and the recognition of our dedication to creating products that enable people to work more effectively," Jim Hackett, president and CEO of Steelcase Inc said.

"As exhibited at NeoCon, Steelcase continues to showcase products that integrate architecture, furniture and technology and provide users with flexibility, support and control in their work environments."

A silver award was presented to Steelcase in the Furniture Systems category for new components in its Pathway's Technology Wall and Ports. Created to change with rapidly evolving technology and shifting organisational needs.

Pathways Technology Wall supports individual and team needs for advanced technology management, and offers unusually flexible application capabilities.

Pathways Ports are interchangeable modules within the Pathways Technology Wall that take advantage of the depth of the panel to get work tools off the desktop, providing users with additional worksurface space.

Also receiving silver awards were Details for its Underline™ lighting, an energy-efficient task light, in the Lighting category and The Designtex Group in the Wall Treatments category for its Hammered Metal Duraprene® fabric.
