Star Wars fans around the world were treated to a new trailer and advance ticket sales, two months before the hotly anticipated film hits cinemas.
A new trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens debuted during half-time at the New York Giants v Philadelphia Eagles American football game in Philadelphia.
A number of tickets went on sale after the trailer played.
Star Wars confirmed in a blog post on Sunday that tickets “for the highly anticipated film will also go on sale tomorrow [Monday] for showings in theatres across the globe”.
The Force Awakens, the seventh film in the franchise, is one of the most anticipated movies of the year, with flurries of excitement accompanying each trailer launch. The second teaser trailer, which debuted in April, has more than 64 million views on You Tube to date.
The Star Wars website also revealed the official poster for the movie which shows “an awakening of the dark side... and the light”.
