The Anaheim Ducks tamed the Ottawa Senators 6-2 on Wednesday to clinch their first Stanley Cup. After losing the 2003 cup in seven games to the New Jersey Devils, the Ducks would not let a second opportunity slip through their fingers taking the best-of-seven series 4-1. The Ducks become the first California-based team to hoist the treasured trophy. The victory brought a bitter end to another season for long suffering Canadian hockey fans, who have not celebrated a Stanley Cup since the Montreal Canadiens claimed the crown in 1993.
