No abuse whatsoever would be tolerated, it was agreed during a meeting between the administration of St Vincent de Paul and the Malta Union of Midwives and Nurses.

The two sides discussed several pending issues including the way discipline was being exercised among employees.

The Secretariat for the Care of the Elderly expressed satisfaction that the union acknowledged that the home administration had the duty to see that all workers had the duty to carry out their job responsibly.

The two sides agreed that where possible, the administration would educate employees before exercising discipline and that each case should be evaluated according to merit. The disciplinary process should not be compromised in any way.
