The Ekoskola team at St Martin’s College, Swatar, recently held a ‘green day’ at the college premises.

The event aimed to create awareness about the connections between environmental changes and the physical spaces people inhabit.

It was intended to provide students with an opportunity to appreciate environmental issues from different perspectives.

A cross-curricular approach was used in an attempt to allow students to explore practical ways of making the college more sustainable.

Students and staff were asked to wear a green item of clothing on the day.

Some students planted saplings and flowers around the college grounds.

Another activity involved the setting up of an aquarium in the middle school.

Musical instruments were made using a variety of recyled materials.
