A more formal tie has been secured between the Federation for Hunting and Conservation (FKNK) and the St Hubert Hunters (KSU).

In a statement, both organisations said they stood for the defence of legal and traditional hunting and trapping practices and both promoted “the wise use of natural resources principle” - sustainable harvesting.

“Whilst both entities have had close ties for years, it was felt that the time had come to formalise such alliance.

“Thus, as permitted by the statute of the FKNK, such affiliation could take place subject to the strict adherence of defined codes of ethics and conduct.”

Although St Hubert’s would remain an independent organisation in its own right and such affiliation would not tarnish its autonomy, this affiliation would continue to strengthen the collaboration between the parties in a firmer stand in favour of traditional hunting and trapping as well as against any illegal practices that only served to damage the future of the passions of hunting and trapping, the organisations said.

The FKNK welcomed the KSU’s decision and looks forward to working closer to achieve common aims.
