The newly rehabilitated St Anne Square in Sliema will be inaugurated this evening, marking the end of a €250,000 project that started with the removal of the Magic Kiosk.

The works were carried out by the Resources Ministry and included paving and the installation of two water features which in the evenings will feature coloured lighting.

St Anne Square was built in 1882 to mark the arrival of the water supply in Sliema. A statue of St Anne in a niche in one corner of the square has also been restored.

The square is to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi and Resources Minister Gorg Pullicino.
