SR Technics today welcomed the 15th easyJet aircraft to its new two-bay facility in Malta.

After a 14-day standard IL-maintenance check, the aircraft will be re-delivered at the end of this month.

Since October, the company has built up its operation in Malta as a centre of excellence for narrow body aircraft base maintenance in Europe.

easyJet is SR Technics’ base load customer in Malta with a long-term maintenance contract. As part of the agreement, SR Technics has been performing three IL maintenance checks per month on easyJet’s Airbus A319 aircraft.

All aircraft have been delivered on schedule with the same turnaround time of 14 days as is usually provided in Zurich.

The operation in Malta is delivering the premium MRO services that SR Technics is renowned for worldwide.

The company is using a two-bay hangar at the Safi Aviation Park and has started to market its capacities to third-party customers.

SR Technics created some 150 jobs in Malta by the end of last year and is currently working to receive the Boeing 737NG approval for this location.
