A Spring Fair for clients and carers at centres for people with disabilities was held recently, with the participation of over 300 clients and around 200 carers.

Sport activities and games formed part of the programme, held last Wednesday at Ta' Qali National Park, as part of the integration programme for people with a disabilities throughout the year.

The day started with the flying of a colourful kite from each day centre. Activities like this provide people with disabilities the opportunity to improve their socialising skills and showcase their talents and abilities by participating in the coordination and preparation of such events.

There are currently nine different day centres, located in Paola, St Venera, Ħal Far, Fleur-de-Lys, Marsacala, Swatar, Birgu and two in Mtarfa. The aims of the day programmes are to develop the potential of people with disabilities, as well as to give support to their families, thus permitting people with disabilities to continue living within the community.
