Members of the Police, the Armed Forces of Malta and the Civil Protection Department let off some steam at a Sports Day organised today at the Police General Headquarters in Floriana.

The Sports Day is intended to bring members of the three departments together in an informal occasion to reinforce the ties between the three departments, which often have to collaborate together in incidents.

Speaking to timesofmalta.com, Charlot Casha, a member of the Police Sports Section said that the sports day entailed a lot of organisational and coordination work.

“We rub shoulders with members of the AFM and the CPD on a regular basis; whether it being illegal immigrants coming in or an accident like we had yesterday, so it’s good to let off some steam every now and then,” he said, explaining that activities such as this helped reinforce collaboration between the uniformed corps in Malta.

The games included football, snooker, pool, table tennis and chess among others; and in this case, the results were irrelevant.
