Rugby Union: England head coach Eddie Jones has advised prop Mako Vunipola to lose weight ahead of this year’s Autumn internationals. Vunipola, who has 35 caps for England, was named in a 37-man training squad for the Autumn internationals and will continue his on-off battle with Joe Marler for the starting loosehead slot. The final squad for the Autumn internationals is to be announced on October 26. “A couple of weeks ago I got a letter saying I was in contention. Everyone got (a) letter, reminding us what to work on. Mine said not to eat too much – to lose some weight,” he said.

Basketball, NBA: Sacramento Kings point guard Darren Collison has been suspended for eight games after pleading guilty to a misdemeanour domestic violence charge, the NBA announced. In a statement, the NBA said the suspension was “as a result of a domestic violence incident involving his wife that occurred on May 30, 2016”. Entering the eighth season of his career, the 29-year-old Collison averaged 14 points and 4.3 assists for the Kings last season.
