Rugby Union: Joe Moody has replaced Wyatt Crockett at loosehead prop in the only change to New Zealand’s starting side for tomorrow’s World Cup semi-final against South Africa at Twickenham. Crockett suffered a groin injury and was replaced in the first half of last weekend’s 62-13 quarter-final win over France. Ben Franks will take Moody’s place on the replacements bench. Nehe Milner-Skudder, who has scored five tries in the tournament, has shaken off a shoulder knock and starts on the wing.

Snooker: Chinese ace Ding Junhui is just two wins away from his first title in 16 months having reached the semi-finals of the Haining Open. Ding’s last trophy came at the Yixing Open, another Asian Tour event, in June last year. He now faces Jimmy Robertson this morning, with the winner to meet Ricky Walden or Robert Milkins in the final to battle for the £13,500 top prize. In the quarter-finals, world number three Ding was pushed all the way before beating Zhang Anda 4-3.

Tennis: Belgium suffered a scare with the Davis Cup final looming when Steve Darcis was forced to retire from his match at the Stockholm Open with a left ankle injury yesterday. The 31-year-old Darcis, who will be needed for the final against Britain in Ghent next month, was trailing 6-1 2-0 to Richard Gasquet when he quit having been on court for 32 minutes. There was no immediate word about how serious the injury was.

American Football, NFL: The NFL has renewed its commitment to Wembley stadium with a new five-year deal which will see at least two regular-season games a year played under the arch until 2020. Earlier this year, the NFL announced a 10-year commitment to play at the new Tottenham Hotspur stadium from 2018 onwards, but that has not signalled the end for Wembley, which has hosted games since 2007 and will see its 13th regular-season contest on Sunday when the Jacksonville Jaguars play the Buffalo Bills.
