The former chairman of the Malta Sport Council has revealed that he learnt that he had been replaced from the media

The new board of the council was announced yesterday by the Secretariat for Sport.

The former chairman, Bernard Vassallo, was in Russia on sport-related duties and learnt of the changes from the online media.Mr Vassallo conveyed his best wishes to the new board members.
However he said on facebook that he considered the manner of his replacement as grossly unethical. He said he had handed in his resignation on March 13 following the change of government and had since then had no communication with the government, whether formal or informal.

"May I again repeat that this post is not a sort of a 'sour grapes' statement as I was expecting a change (quite normal and a bit understandable) but one of big disappointment as, ethically and humanely, a simple notification letter, email or even sms (a meeting may be asking too much) would have been expected!!!" he said.
