Boavista coach resigns: Boavista coach Jaime Pacheco has resigned with three games of the season remaining, the Portuguese Premier League club said on its website on Saturday. The decision follows a poor run of results culminating in Friday's 1-0 loss at struggling Academica even though Boavista are fifth in the table and still aiming for a UEFA Cup spot. Pacheco, who made history by guiding Boavista to their only league title in the 2000-01 season, will be replaced by the club's former player Pedro Barny until end of the season. Pacheco's resignation, by mutual consent, raised the number of managerial casualties in the championship this season to 15, including two before the campaign had even started.
