King's Cup Final: Atletico Madrid's Vicente Calderon stadium will be the venue for the King's Cup final between Osasuna and Real Betis on June 11, the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) said yesterday. The Calderon was last used for the 1994 final when Real Zaragoza beat Celta Vigo on penalties after the match ended 0-0 after extra time. Osasuna reached the first Cup final in their 85-year history when they held Atletico to a 0-0 draw at the Calderon on Thursday to seal a 1-0 aggregate win. Betis, whose only victory in the competition came when they beat Athletic Bilbao at the Calderon in 1977, made the final for the fourth time after a dramatic 5-4 penalty shootout victory over Bilbao on Wednesday.

Dynamo Moscow: Dynamo Moscow have signed Porto midfielders Costinha and Maniche for a combined €20 million. Maniche and Costinha, who have signed five-year deals, played key roles in Porto's Champions League success last year and also represented Portugal at Euro 2004. In the close season Dynamo signed seven players from various Portuguese clubs, including Brazilian striker Derlei from Porto for €7.5 million.

Rooney: Man. United striker Wayne Rooney is to be charged with careless driving after being involved in a car crash which left a woman with whiplash injuries. The England player was not hurt in the accident, which happened on Thursday in Stockport.

Kaiserslautern: Michael Henke, a long-time assistant to Ottmar Hitzfeld, will become Kaiserslautern coach next season. Henke, who served under Hitzfeld during the latter's time in charge at B. Dortmund and Bayern Munich, has agreed a one-year deal with an extension option based on results. Kaiserslautern, 10th in the Bundesliga, parted company with Kurt Jara last week. The Austrian coach decided not to seek an extension to his contract and the two parties agreed to terminate his deal immediately.

Mikel Row: Manchester United want the Premier League to intervene in the dispute over John Obi Mikel's proposed move to Old Trafford from Norway's Lyn Oslo. United say midfielder Mikel has signed for them, having announced the four-million pound deal on April 29, but the 18-year-old Nigerian is quoted in Norway's Dagbladet newspaper as saying he now wants to join champions Chelsea.

UEFA Cup Final: CSKA Moscow 'keeper Igor Akinfeyev, whose team face Sporting in the UEFA Cup final in Lisbon on Wednesday, feels he has a score to settle with the Portuguese. Akinfeyev has bad memories from his last visit to the Lisbon stadium where Portugal thrashed Russia 7-1 in a World Cup qualifier last October. That defeat - the country's worst since 1912 - cost Russian soccer chief Vyacheslav Koloskov and national team coach Georgy Yartsev their jobs. "We must pay them back for that game in October," the 19-year-old keeper, a substitute that night, said.

League One: Play-off SF 1st leg - Hartlepool vs Tranmere 2-0.
