Bosnia clash: Nineteen people, including 11 policemen, were injured in clashes after a match between hosts Celik and Zeljeznicar in the central town of Zenica late on Saturday. One Zeljeznicar supporter died but the cause of death was not immediately known. The injured were taken to hospital for medical treatment.

PRISKE: Racing Genk's Danish international defender Brian Priske is on the brink of a move to Portsmouth. Genk drew their first division match at Westerlo 1-1. Although Priske's transfer fee was not disclosed, it is believed to be in the region of 750,000 euros ($917,200).

LINCOLN: Schalke 04's Brazilian playmaker Lincoln has offered to play for Germany after giving up hope of representing the country of his birth. "In the past it would have been unthinkable but now, if Klinsmann were to call me, it would immediately be an issue," the 26-year-old said. A free-kick specialist, Lincoln has played in the Bundesliga since his move to Kaiserslautern in 2001.

WOLFSBURG: Wolfsburg have completed the signings of French striker Steve Marlet from Fulham and Portugal defender Alex from Benfica. The Bundesliga club said the 31-year-old Marlet had signed a one-year contract with an option for another season, while Alex had joined on a four-year deal.

OLIC: Croatia striker Ivica Olic will miss their remaining World Cup qualifiers after suffering a serious knee injury in last week's 1-1 friendly draw against Brazil. The CSKA Moscow forward will have to undergo surgery and will be out of action for at least six months. Croatia's next qualifiers are away to Iceland on Sept. 3 and away to Malta four days later.

CELTIC: Celtic's debts have spiralled to almost £20m following their poor European campaign last season. The club announced the figures just before the first Old Firm clash of the new season at Ibrox. Rangers won 3-1. Celtic said debts rose by 3.7 million pounds to 19.5 million after turnover fell by 9.9 per cent.

AJAX: Ajax belatedly kicked off their Dutch first division season with a 2-0 win at Roosendaal on Saturday. Steven Pienaar opened the scoring on 59 minutes and young Swede Markus Rosenberg sealed victory with five minutes to go. Ajax's scheduled season opener last week against Den Haag was postponed until January 7 following a court ruling. Ajax were blocked from hosting the game after mayor Job Cohen said the police force could not provide adequate security.
