PSG: Paris St Germain have appealed against a FIFA decision not to authorise Uruguay's Carlos Bueno and Cristian Rodriguez to play for them. Both players signed four-year contracts in July but their previous club, Montevideo-based Penarol, said they still belonged to them. FIFA provisionally authorised them to play for PSG on August 19 before ruling on September 1 that they could not represent their new club. They have not played since.

Bookmakers: Irish bookmaker Paddy Power is already paying out on bets that Premier League champions Chelsea will win the title again this season. Chelsea have made a record start of seven consecutive wins and are runaway leaders on 21 points, six ahead of Charlton. Though Chelsea still have another 31 games to play, Paddy Power said that they will pay out on all single bets placed before 0700 GMT yesterday for Chelsea to retain their title.

Honved: Kispest-Honved, Ferenc Puskas's old club, have been kicked out of the Hungarian first division for failing to pay debts to a former manager. The expulsion was announced yesterday by the Hungarian Soccer League after Barnabas Tornyi had not received 40 million forints ($193,700) awarded by courts. Kispest, 14 times champions, have been relegated to the second division and barred from the transfer market.
