Klinsmann: Juergen Klinsmann is willing to stay on as Germany coach after the World Cup if the hosts have a successful tournament, the German FA (DFB) said yesterday. "He has indicated his readiness to prolong his contract if the World Cup goes well," the DFB said in a statement. It is the first time Klinsmann has given any hint about whether he would want to carry on after leading the hosts into next year's tournament.

Kluivert: Dutch striker Patrick Kluivert is back in the Valencia squad to play Sevilla today after more than a month on the sidelines because of a knee injury. The 29-year-old, who joined Valencia from Newcastle in the close season, was injured on September 20 on the eve of a match against his former team Barcelona and has not played since.

Troussier: Frenchman Philippe Troussier has been confirmed as the new coach of Morocco's national team. A spokesman at the Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) said yesterday that Troussier had signed a five-year deal through to the 2010 World Cup finals worth 50,000 euros ($60,330) a month plus bonuses.

Grant: Israel coach Avraham Grant has resigned after failing to steer the country to the World Cup finals in Germany next year, the Israeli FA said yesterday. The 50-year-old Grant had a one-hour meeting with Israel FA chairman Itzhak Menahem yesterday before handing in his notice. The search for a replacement has already begun but Grant is willing to stay until the end of his contract, which runs until June 2006.

Johnson: Chelsea's England fullback Glen Johnson has resumed training after breaking his wrist punching a wall. The 21-year-old is reported to have hurt his hand after losing his temper at home. Chelsea have declined to comment on the latest setback for the youngster.
