Gibraltar: The Court of Arbitration for Sport has ordered FIFA to reconsider Gibraltar's application for membership and submit it to Congress as soon as possible. The Gibraltar FA had appealed to CAS against a FIFA executive committee decision, taken in September 2014, to reject its application for membership. CAS said that FIFA's Congress "shall take all necessary measures to admit the Gibraltar FA as a full member of FIFA without delay".

Romanian title: FC Astra clinched their first Romanian league title after defending champions Steaua Bucharest slipped to a 1-1 home draw against Pandurii Targu-Jiu. Second-placed Steaua’s draw left the Giurgiu-based club with a five-point advantage before Astra’s penultimate league match against Dinamo Bucharest yesterday.

Russian Cup: Brazil forward Hulk converted two penalties as Andre Villas-Boas’ Zenit St Petersburg cruised past CSKA Moscow 4-1 to win the Russian Cup in Kazan yesterday. For Zenit this was their third success after winning the title in 1999 and 2010. “I want to congratulate the supporters and the club’s owners,” coach Villas-Boas after claiming his third trophy with the club.

FA probe: The Football Association will investigate reports that Oldham defender Anthony Gerrard was struck by a Millwall fan on Saturday. Oldham lost 3-0 as Millwall secured a Sky Bet League One play-off place at The Den. There was a pitch invasion at the final whistle and Gerrard said that a Millwall fan gave him a “dig”.
