Jallet: France defender Christophe Jallet has extended his contract at Lyon until 2018. The 32-year-old, signed from Paris St Germain in 2014, has established himself as an important part of Les Gones’ team even if he has had to compete for playing time this season with former Manchester United full-back Rafael. “I am very happy,” Jallet said. “It continues my adventure in Lyon.”

Friendlies: Romania will play friendlies against the Democratic Republic of Congo and Ukraine in Italy in the build-up to this year’s European championship in France, the Romanian football federation (FRF) said. The Romanians, who will stage a training camp in Italy between May 18 and 30, will face DR Congo on May 25 in Saint-Vincent and Ukraine in Turin four days later. They have also scheduled a friendly against Georgia on June 3.

Stuani: Middlesbrough striker Cristhian Stuani has been banned for three matches after being found guilty of violent conduct. The 29-year-old Uruguayan was charged by the FA in relation to an incident – which was not spotted by the officials – involving Preston defender Greg Cunningham during Saturday’s 1-0 Championship victory at the Riverside Stadium. He had until 6pm to respond to the charge on Tuesday, but the FA yesterday confirmed his punishment.

Sviatchenko: Erik Sviatchenko has a “good chance” of facing Rangers, according to Celtic manager Ronny Deila. The centre-back missed the Hoops’ victory at Motherwell on Saturday after going off with a thigh injury against Dundee four days earlier. But Deila is optimistic the Dane will be fit for Sunday’s Scottish Cup semi-final. “Erik has a good chance. So we will see. It’s too early to say. He has a grade one pulled muscle so it’s a good chance,” Deila said.

In England: Premier League – Crystal Palace vs Everton 0-0.
