Sweden: Sweden are set to appoint IFK Norrkoping coach Jan Andersson as national team manager to replace Erik Hamren after Euro 2016, reports said yesterday. Andersson, who led his unfancied side to the Swedish league title in 2015, will take the reins from Hamren who had already announced he would step down after the European Championship.

Togo: Claude Le Roy has added another chapter to his extensive African coaching career by agreeing a deal to lead Togo until 2019. The Frenchman has worked on the continent for almost 30 years and has coached at a record eight African Nations Cup finals, only failing to reach the quarter-finals once and winning the tournament with Cameroon in 1988.

Fined: Bolton have fined midfielder Liam Trotter and defender David Wheater for making an offensive gesture ahead of their defeat at Brentford on Tuesday. The players were also warned about their future conduct after they were caught on camera sticking their middle fingers up as they walked into Griffin Park prior to the match. Bolton’s 3-1 defeat pushed them another step closer to relegation, which will be confirmed if they lose to Derby County at the weekend.

Gignac: Andre-Pierre Gignac scored twice in the last six minutes to give UANL Tigres a 2-0 home win over Queretaro yesterday that earned them a place in their first CONCACAF Champions League final. Gignac’s double sealed the all-Mexican semi-final for a 2-0 aggregate victory after the sides drew 0-0 in the first leg. Tigres’s previous best run in the competition had been to the 2012/13 quarter-finals.

Cellino Jr: Leeds United director Edoardo Cellino has been charged by the English FA for comments he made on social media. The son of controversial Leeds owner Massimo Cellino became involved in an abusive row with a fan in a private message exchange on Facebook in which he labelled the supporter a “spastic”.
