Stramaccioni: Former Inter and Udinese boss Andrea Stramaccioni has been named as the new coach of Panathinaikos, the Greek Super League club said yesterday. The 39-year-old Italian has penned a two-year deal with the Athens giants to take over from Giannis Anastasiou, who parted company with the club by mutual consent last Monday.

Andreasen: Denmark midfielder Leon Andreasen will miss their Euro 2016 playoff games against Sweden after suffering a deep cut while opening a parcel. The Danish FA (DBU) announced his withdrawal from the squad for the two-legged tie in a statement yesterday. His club Hanover 96 said that the 32-year-old had sliced open his left hand with a sharp knife while opening a large package at home.

Astana: Astana won their second Kazakhstan Premier League title in a row yesterday when they beat Aktobe 1-0 at home. Junior Kabananga from the Democratic Republic of Congo got the only goal of the game in the 87th minute. The club from the Kazakh capital finished a point ahead of Kairat Almaty, while Aktobe were third.

Moyes: David Moyes is facing the sack as manager of Real Sociedad, according to reports in Spain last night. The former Everton and Man. United manager has spent almost a full year in charge of the Spanish club, having been appointed on November 10, 2014. However, the Spanish newspaper AS said that club president Jokin Aperribay has decided to fire the Scot after a poor set of results.
