Las Palmas: Las Palmas have become the first La Liga club to sack their coach this season after Paco Herrera paid the price for Sunday’s 4-0 thrashing at Getafe which left the Canary Islands club second from bottom. Herrera, 61, who has also had stints in charge at clubs including Real Zaragoza and Celta Vigo and was an assistant to Rafa Benitez at Liverpool, helped Las Palmas win promotion to Spain’s top flight last term after a 13-year absence. However, they have only five points from eight matches.

Boca: Boca Juniors missed a chance to seal the Argentine league title on Sunday after going down 3-1 away to Racing in a bad-tempered match that saw two Boca players sent off and another four booked. Three points would have given Boca an unassailable eight-point lead over Rosario Central with two games to go but the capital club were outplayed by the home side. “We need to grow in these games and not play like this,” said Boca striker Carlos Tevez.

De Jong: PSV Eindhoven will have top scorer Luuk de Jong back from injury for tomorrow’s Champions League clash with VfL Wolfsburg. De Jong, who has netted seven times in the Dutch top-flight this season, is fit to travel to Germany after an ankle problem kept him out of the defeat at CSKA Moscow in their previous Group B game.

Fans banned: Away fans will not be allowed to attend both legs of the Dinamo Zagreb vs Olym-piakos Champions League doubleheader over fears of crowd trouble. “Dinamo and Olym-piakos have agreed that there will be no visiting supporters in either fixture, at the Maksimir stadium in Zagreb and the Georgios Karaiskakis stadium,” Dinamo said. “It is a security measure both clubs adopted.”

Real Madrid: Real Madrid had mixed news ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League game at Paris SG with tests showing Gareth Bale has a calf injury while Luka Modric returned to training after shaking off a thigh problem. Wales forward Bale came off at halftime in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Levante.

In Italy:Serie B – Cesena vs Spezia 5-1. Lega Pro (Group B) – Casertana vs Catania 2-0.

La Liga: S. Gijon vs Granada 3-3.
