Rojo: Louis van Gaal will have to field a makeshift defence against Sunderland tomorrow after confirming Marcos Rojo will not be fit for the match at Old Trafford. Manchester United defender Rojo sat out Wednesday’s League Cup win over Ipswich because of a hamstring injury. “The left-footed players, Luke Shaw and Marcos Rojo, are injured, so I have a problem,” Van Gaal said yesterday.

Klopp: Jurgen Klopp is interested in working in the Premier League, Sky Sport reported yesterday. It is also understood that the former Borussia Dortmund manager is prepared to end his sabbatical for the right job but the report claims that the German has not been approached by Liverpool.

Rangers: Rangers have vowed to fight Charles Green’s attempts to make the club pay for his defence against criminal charges. The former Rangers chief executive was arrested earlier this month and charged with a number of offences relating to his time at the club. But the 62-year-old is set to take the club to court to force Rangers to pay for his legal costs, claiming his contract allowed him legal cover.

Rugani: Arsenal are again being linked with a £13m move for Daniele Rugani, who is yet to make his Juventus debut. The defender had made a name for himself at Empoli, becoming the only man to play every single minute of the Serie A season and famously doing so without a booking.
