Isco: Real Madrid midfielder Isco needs to score more goals if he is to keep James Rodriguez out of the side when he returns from injury, coach Rafa Benitez said. “Isco is a great footballer and what he needs to do is to carry on doing what he has been this whole time,” Benitez said. “Work with intensity and dedication and beyond that make the most of the quality he has to score the odd goal more.”
McAleny: Charlton have signed Everton forward Conor McAleny on a two-month loan deal. The 23-year-old, who will remain with the Addicks until Nov. 7, could make his debut for Guy Luzon’s team tonight when Huddersfield visit The Valley. McAleny has previously enjoyed loan spells with Scunthorpe, Brentford and Cardiff.
MLS: New England Revolution beat Toronto 3-1 on Sunday to claim their fifth straight win. New England, now unbeaten in seven, went ahead through an own goal from Damien Perquis and went 2-0 up when Diego Fagundez scored five minutes before half-time. Toronto pulled a goal back in the 56th minute when Robbie Findley headed home Justin Morrow‘s cross, but New England wrapped up the points in 15 minutes later when Kelyn Rowe scored after taking a pass from Lee Nguyen.
McMillan: Former Partick Thistle defender Jordan McMillan has been suspended for two years following a failed drug test. McMillan tested positive for benzoylecgonine, a metabolite of cocaine, following Thistle’s game against Celtic on December 3 last year. The 26-year-old was soon suspended by the club and sacked following an internal investigation.
