Silva: Bernardo Silva has extended his contract with Monaco until 2020. The Portugal left winger, who scored in the season-opening 2-1 win over Nice on Saturday, has been with the club since the start of last season when he signed an initial loan deal from Benfica.

Martinez: Wolves are close to signing Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez on a season-long loan. The 22-year-old Argentinian has little hope of first-team football under Arsene Wenger following the £10 million arrival of Petr Cech and the fine form of David Ospina last season.

N’Doye: Hull striker Dame N’Doye has completed a £2.2m move to Trabzonspor. The Senegalese arrived from Lokomotiv Moscow on deadline day in January and made an immediate impact, scoring three times in his first four appearances. However, he ended the season on a five-game scoreless streak as the Tigers slipped out of the Premier League.

Abandoned: The German Cup first-round tie between third tier VfL Osnabrueck and RB Leipzig was abandoned in the 71st minute yesterday after the referee was struck by a lighter thrown from a section of the home crowd. Hosts Osnabrueck were leading their second-tier opponents 1-0 when referee Martin Petersen was hit on the head.

Juve ban: The ban on Juventus to have their Curva Sud closed has been suspended, making the stand inside their stadium available for the season opener with Udinese later this month. Following violence in last season’s derby with Torino, Juve were handed a closure of the stand, but appealed the decision. The ban was first reduced from two games to one but Juventus launched a second appeal, this time with CONI, the Olympic movement, which was successful.

Doumbia: Ivorian forward Seydou Doumbia has re-joined CSKA Moscow on loan until the end of the year after an unsuccessful stint with Roma. Doumbia was twice top scorer in the Russian Premier League with CSKA before joining Roma in January. He scored two goals in 13 matches for the Serie A side and has returned to Moscow with CSKA having an option to extend the deal, last season’s Russian runners-up said on their website.
