Fabregas: Arsenal's teenage midfielder Cesc Fabregas is doubtful for Wednesday's Champions League semi-final first leg against Villarreal, manager Arsene Wenger said yesterday. Fabregas first injured his foot in the 5-0 league win over Aston Villa two weeks ago. Wenger told reporters the Spaniard is unlikely to be fit in time after missing the midweek draw at Portsmouth.

Aimar: Valencia's Argentina midfielder Pablo Aimar is suffering from a form of viral meningitis, the Primera Liga club said. The 26-year-old, a key player in Argentine coach Jose Pekerman's World Cup plans, was admitted to hospital on Wednesday after complaining of fever and headaches. Valencia said Aimar was expected to remain in hospital for up to 10 days.

Campbell: Arsenal central defender Sol Campbell broke his nose in Wednesday's 1-1 draw with Portsmouth and may require surgery. "He has no breathing problems but the surgeon has to decide whether he has surgery now or whether we should wait until the end of the season," Wenger said.

Messi: Barcelona forward Lionel Messi is likely to miss both legs of the Champions League semi-final against Milan because of a thigh muscle tear. "It's a complicated sort of tear," Argentina's national team doctor Donato Villani was quoted as saying in the Spanish media."In my opinion he will only be ready to play one more game this season and that will be the Champions League final."

In England: The Championship - Cardiff vs Sheffield United 0-1; Wolves vs Watford 1-1. League One - Southend vs Gillingham 0-1; Yeovil vs Scunthorpe 0-1.

In France: French Cup semi-final draw - Olympique Marseille vs Stade Rennes; Nantes vs Paris St Germain. Matches to be played on April 20. Final is scheduled for April 29 at Stade de France.

In Spain: King's Cup final - Espanyol vs R. Zaragoza 4-1 (played on Wednesday night).
