Clement: Rangers have completed the signing of French midfielder Jeremy Clement from Lyon on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee. Clement, 21, a former Under-21 international, said he was excited at the prospect of playing for Paul Le Guen again. "He gave me my chance at Lyon and I am looking forward to renewing our relationship in Glasgow," Clement said.

Heskey: Wigan Athletic paid a club record fee of 5.5 million pounds yesterday for Birmingham City's former England striker Emile Heskey. The fee eclipses the 3.1 million pounds Wigan paid Wolves for striker Henri Camara last August.

Pessotto: Doctors treating Juventus team manager Gianluca Pessotto, who fell from a window last week, say his condition has worsened. "The patient's condition is worse now than in the last few days," the doctors said. "If before we were able to express cautious optimism, we are now withholding judgment." The 35-year-old former Juventus defender has been in intensive care in a Turin hospital since falling 15 metres from a window in the Juventus club headquarters on June 27.

Larsson: Helsingborg won their Swedish Cup third-round tie against Hammarby 3-1 on Thursday night in striker Henrik Larsson's home-coming match. Larsson, returning to his old club after 13 years abroad and a final season with European champions Barcelona, started the match but was substituted in the 65th minute after appearing to suffer from cramp.
