Verbeek: Former South Korean coach Pim Verbeek has been suspended for three matches by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) after being sent off during his side's third-place play-off against Japan at July's Asian Cup in Indonesia. Verbeek, who resigned after the tournament, was found guilty of gross misconduct for verbally abusing referee Ali Al Badwadi during the second half of the match, which Korea won on penalties.

Suree: Thailand's soccer president Worawi Makudi has held talks with England's FA and Premier League officials on securing a work permit for Thai international fullback Suree Sukha, the Bangkok Post reported. Worawi, a FIFA Executive Committee member, made the trip after Suree's application for a work permit to join Man. City was rejected.

Osasuna-Sevilla: The Primera Liga match between Osasuna and Sevilla that was postponed following the death of Sevilla's Antonio Puerta will be played on Wednesday Dec. 5, the clubs have agreed. It had originally been scheduled in Pamplona for Sept.3.

Nou Camp: The studios of British architect Norman Foster have been selected to carry out the remodelling of Barcelona's Nou Camp stadium. Foster was responsible for designing the new Wembley.
