Ref blunders: Bulgarian premier league club Spartak Varna are to launch a website showing referees' blunders in the domestic championship, the club's chief executive said. The move is a response to referee Asen Nikolov's decision to send off Serbian midfielder Velimir Ivanovic last weekend in Spartak's 2-1 defeat at Belasitsa Petrich. "I'm going to launch such a Web site to help people realise what is happening," Zhivko Velikov told reporters. "I'll ask other teams for videos of their matches and we'll show all the tragi-comic referees' performances."

Iordanescu retires: Anghel Iordanescu, acclaimed as the best Romanian coach of the 20th century, announced his retirement yesterday, 20 years after leading Steaua Bucharest to victory in the European Super Cup. A playmaker capped 64 times for Romania, he came on as a substitute in Steaua's 1986 European Cup Winners' Cup triumph over Barcelona when he was already the team's assistant coach. He took over the Steaua team from Emerich Jenei the following season and led them to victory over Dynamo Kiev in the Super Cup in Monaco.

Nakamura: Celtic's Shunsuke Nakamura is out of their Scottish League Cup clash with Dundee, but manager Gordon Strachan is hopeful the Japanese midfielder will be fit for next week's Champions League clash with holders Milan. Strachan told a news conference yesterday that Nakamura had a knee ligament injury and "was not fit" adding: "But hopefully he will be alright for next week."

Mourinho: Jose Mourinho will make no further comments on Chelsea. "I am not going to make any more comments about any subject related to my professional activity. The next interview I give will be as technical manager, employed by my next club", he told reporters.

Kluivert: Former Netherlands striker Patrick Kluivert, who joined Lille last month, will miss their League Cup third round tie against RC Lens today because of a knee problem, the Ligue 1 club said.

Recreativo Huelva: Recreativo Huelva have signed former Colombia and Real Madrid striker Edwin Congo on a one-year contract, the Primera Liga club have said. He will join up with the squad for their league match away to Deportivo Coruna today after being presented to the media.

Reyes: Atletico Madrid winger Jose Antonio Reyes is pleased to have won over doubting fans who whistled him at his presentation, with his contribution to the side's first league win on Sunday, a 4-0 rout of Racing Santander. "I felt emotional when I was substituted near the end and saw people giving me a standing ovation," he told the club's website www.atleticodemadrid.com. Atletico travel to face Athletic Bilbao today.
