Kone: Sevilla striker Arouna Kone has flown to Brussels to be with his daughter, after she was badly injured in an accident, and will miss tomorrow's Champions League game at Romanian side Unirea. The Ivory Coast international's six-year-old daughter apparently fell down the stairs at home and suffered a serious blow to the head.

Gattuso: Milan coach Leonardo yesterday denied that combative midfielder Gennaro Gattuso is looking for a move away from the San Siro in the January transfer window. The former Rangers player was linked with Manchester City last week but his Brazilian boss rejected the speculation. "I've spoken to (vice-president Adriano) Galliani and I often speak to Gattuso, it's not true," said Leonardo.

Beckham: David Beckham still has plans to be a Major League Soccer team owner when his playing days are over. "I love the game so I want to be involved in the game when I'm finished," Beckham said. "Owning a franchise is something that's definitely possible and something that I'm really thinking about and I think will happen eventually."

Janssen: Twente Enschede midfielder Theo Janssen broke his nose and suffered several cuts after being involved in a car accident on Saturday night. Dutch media reported the 28-year-old midfielder's driving licence had been provisionally confiscated by the police as he was caught drink driving. Three passengers in the car were also injured.

Motor Racing: Edoardo Mortara followed in the footsteps of motor racing greats Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna by winning the Macau Formula Three GP yesterday. The 22-year-old Italian, who finished second from pole last year, moved up from third on the grid to win the 56th version of the race.

Basket, NBA: The Cleveland Cavaliers held the Philadelphia 76ers to just 10 fourth-quarter points to rally for a 97-91 win, LeBron James leading the home team's assault with a 32-point effort. James added nine assists and seven rebounds while Mo Williams chipped in 18 points for a fast-finishing Cavaliers.

Tennis: Serbian world number three Novak Djokovic announced he had signed a clothing deal with Sergio Tacchini that will start in January, ending a long association with German firm Adidas. "I am pleased to partner with Sergio Tacchini, a strong brand with a true tennis DNA and am honoured to become a part of this legacy," the 22-year-old said.
