The Swans cruised to a 3-0 lead after goals from Ashley Williams (2), Jordi Gomez (35) and Jason Scotland (67). Bogdanovic pulled one back for the hosts when he converted an 84th minute penalty. Barnsley are fourth-from-bottom with 46 points.

Luton: Luton have lost their English Football League status after 89 years as yesterday's 0-0 draw against Chesterfield confirmed their relegation from League Two. Luton enjoyed success in the English top flight in the 1980s, winning the League Cup final against Arsenal at Wembley in 1988 and reaching the final again the following year.

Agbonlahor: Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill is sweating on the fitness of England forward Gabriel Agbonlahor after he suffered a hamstring injury against Everton. Agbonlahor will undergo a scan in the next 24 hours.

Macheda: Manchester United could offer Federico Macheda a five-year deal when he turns 18 in August after the Italian striker scored two goals in his first two Premier League matches, his agent said. "When he's 18 we'll talk again. I think Manchester will ask us to sign a five-year deal and I think that would be logical because it makes no sense to lose a lad at 21," agent Giovanni Bia said.

Ribery: Franck Ribery wants to move to Barcelona, his Bayern Munich team-mate Mark van Bommel has said. "Franck has told me he wants to play for Barcelona. He is the best player in Germany and his style of play would fit well with Barca's because he is strong with great technical ability," he said.

Athletics: China's 110m hurdles world champion Liu Xiang has confirmed he will only attempt to defend his title in Berlin later this year if his foot has fully recovered. The 25-year-old former world record holder underwent surgery in December on the injured foot that denied him chance of winning a second consecutive Olympic gold medal at last year's Beijing Games. "It is still uncertain," Liu told state television. "Even if I go to Berlin, I may not be in the best form." The world championships run from Aug. 15-23.

Cricket: Sachin Tendulkar yesterday came face to face with himself, as a new waxwork figure of the Indian cricket legend was unveiled in his home city of Mumbai after demand from the public. The figure has been made to go on show at London's Madame Tussauds museum and is the first of an Indian sportsman at the world famous waxwork attraction.

Tennis: Maria Sharapova slid out of the top 50 in the new WTA rankings published yesterday which saw Serena Williams still top of the heap though she is set to surrender her status to Dinara Safina next week. Sharapova, who is currently injured, dropped 23 places and now stands 53rd on the computer.

Basket, NBA: Dwyane Wade scored a career-high 55 points to help the Miami Heat tune up for the play-offs with an impressive 122-105 victory over the New York Knicks on Sunday. The victory ensured the Heat (42-38) would be seeded fifth in the Eastern Conference. Wade nailed six three pointers on his way to scoring 50 or more points for the third time this season after he hit the ground running from the opening tip-off.
