Called off: Arsenal's FA Cup fourth-round replay at home to Championship (second division) Cardiff City tonight has been postponed due to adverse weather conditions, the Premier League club said yesterday. Arsenal were held to a goalless draw by last season's FA Cup finalists in the first game.

Dacourt: Inter's former France midfielder Olivier Dacourt has joined Fulham on loan until the end of the season, the English Premier League club said. The 34-year-old, who has 21 caps, had previous spells in the Premier League with Everton, Aston Villa and Leeds United.

Jo: Everton have agreed a loan deal until the end of the season with Manchester City forward Jo, the Premier League club said yesterday The Brazil international joined City last year from Russian club CSKA Moscow for 18 million pounds ($25.48 million) but has struggled to make an impression at the club.

West Brom: English Premier League strugglers West Bromwich Albion have signed midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu on loan from Paris St Germain. West Brom said the Congo international could sign a permanent deal at the end of the season.

Emerton: Blackburn Rovers' Australian international Brett Emerton will be out for the rest of the season after suffering knee ligament damage. The midfielder will be out for six months.

Hannover: Bundesliga club Hannover 96 have signed Polish midfielder Jacek Krzynowek from Wolfsburg until 2010. Krzynowek, who has 87 international caps, has previously played for German sides Nurnberg and Bayer Leverkusen.

Sumo: A sumo wrestler was expelled from the ancient sport yesterday after being arrested for possessing marijuana, in the latest of a string of scandals to shake the conservative world of Japanese wrestling. The expulsion of Wakakirin, a 25-year-old hiphop fan, comes after three Russian sumo wrestlers met a similar fate over marijuana charges.

Basketball: Former NBA guard Bonzi Wells, the best known player in the Chinese Basketball Association, has agreed to terminate his contract with Shanxi Zhongyu after delaying his return from the United States after the Chinese New Year break. The club has signed Tim Pickett, a 2004 draft pick for the New Orleans Hornets, to replace the former Portland, Memphis, Sacramento, Houston and New Orleans player.

Athletics: Athens Olympic bronze medal winning walker Jane Saville has retired from the sport, Athletics Australia said yesterday. Saville, 34, also won three Commonwealth Games gold medals though will be best remembered as being disqualified just 300 metres from the finish line while leading the 20km walk at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

Golf: Kenny Perry shrugged off the disappointment of a bogey at the last to win the Phoenix Open in a sudden-death play-off against fellow American Charley Hoffman in Arizona on Sunday. Both players bogeyed the first extra hole and parred the second before Perry coolly rolled in a 22-foot birdie putt at the third to clinch his 15th PGA Tour title.

Rugby: New Zealand flyhalf Dan Carter will miss the rest of the season because of an Achilles tendon injury, his Perpignan club said. Dan Carter limped off the field on Saturday in the final seconds of a French championship game against Stade Francais, just after scoring a penalty which helped Perpignan secure a 13-13 draw.
