Gago: Real Madrid's Argentina midfielder Fernando Gago will be out for four weeks after tearing a thigh muscle in Wednesday's 2-0 Champions League win over BATE Borisov. Gago will miss Real's next Champions League match at Zenit St Petersburg on Sept. 30 and is a doubt for Argentina's World Cup qualifiers against Uruguay and Chile next month.

Sun Ji Hai: Sheffield United defender Sun Jihai has been charged with improper conduct by the Football Association. The China international has been cited for his reaction to being shown a red card for his tackle on Coventry's Michael Mifsud in Tuesday's 1-1 draw at Bramall Lane.

Cana: Olympique Marseille captain Lorik Cana, who scored in a 2-1 Champions League defeat by Liverpool on Tuesday, said he was full of confidence before his second-placed team host Monaco tomorrow. "We're playing excellent football and getting better and better," the Albania midfielder said. "I am not at all worried. I fully trust our strikers and the rest of the team."

Fiorentina: Fiorentina presented their plans for a new 40,000-50,000-seater stadium with a shopping centre and a football fun park. "Once the location is established, it will take three years for the stadium to be built," Fiorentina honorary president Diego Della Valle said.

Arsenal: Arsenal have revealed they made a pre-tax profit of £36.7 million for the year ending May 2008. It comes as the Gunners continue to reap the rewards of their move to the Emirates Stadium with the club having announced that gate and match day revenue totalled £94.6 million, which represents some 45 per cent of their overall football revenues. The club moved to the 60,000-capacity stadium from Highbury in July 2006.

Trezeguet: David Trezeguet is set for a spell on the sidelines after Juventus announced that the former French forward needs surgery on an injury to his right knee. The problem has troubled Trezeguet since the start of the season, the club said. Italian media predict that he is likely to be out for at least two months.

Africa qualifiers: The draw for the last phase of Africa's 2010 World Cup qualifiers will be held in Zurich on Oct. 24, FIFA said. The last 20 contenders will be divided into five groups of four, with group winners advancing to the 32-team finals in South Africa. The top three finishers will also qualify for the 2010 African Nations Cup finals in Angola.
