Del Piero: Italy striker Alessandro Del Piero has hinted he might move to an English Premier League club when his contract with Juventus expires in 2010. "An experience in a foreign championship is tempting. Even if it goes badly, it enriches you from a human and professional point of view," the 33-year-old said. "In England...one lives better than in Italy, even in football. They have a more beautiful championship and, unlike us, they have managed to resolve their problems with the fans."

Milito: Genoa striker Diego Milito will be available for today's Serie A match at home to Milan after the documentation for the Argentine's transfer from Real Zaragoza arrived, the club said on its website (www.genoacfc.it).

Silva: Valencia's Spain midfielder David Silva will have surgery to solve a long-term left ankle problem next Tuesday. Spanish media reported that the 22-year-old was expected to be sidelined for up to three months.

Transfer record: Vietnamese club The Cong Hanoi have smashed the country's transfer record in signing three-times Vietnam's player of the year Le Cong Vinh for $500,000 from Song Lam Nghe An.

In Singapore: Singapore forward Noh Alam Shah scored two goals for his club Tampines on his return from a ban for violent conduct. Alam Shah, who attacked team-mate Daniel Bennett as he lay on the ground during a Cup final and was banned for a year, which was then reduced to seven months, helped Tampines to a 4-1 win over Khalsa.

Basketball: The Cleveland Cavaliers have re-signed restricted free agent guard Delonte West to a multi-year contract, the team said on its website. The 25-year-old joined the Cavaliers from the Seattle Supersonics following a three-team trade in February. He averaged 10.3 points and 4.5 assists in 26 games with Cleveland last season. "The Cavaliers have shown me that they value me as a player and a person, and that was the most important thing," West told the Cleveland Plain Dealer. "I feel a great relief."

Rugby: Former Australia loose forward Scott Fava has joined the New South Wales Waratahs Super 14 side on a two-year contract after being released from the final year of his contract from the Western Force on compassionate grounds. The 32-year-old, who joined the Perth-based team from the ACT Brumbies in 2006 and scored their first Super rugby try, had been released so he could be closer to his family in Sydney. Fava ran into disciplinary problems at the Force, being sanctioned twice for alcohol breaches and he was also fined after handling quokkas, a protected marsupial, at a team training session before the 2008 Super 14 season.
