Man. City: Manchester City's ill-fated tour of Asia ended with a 3-1 defeat to a makeshift South China XI in Hong Kong, their second defeat in five days. The defeat was the fourth in succession for City, who are in the midst of a "technical review" by Thai owner Thaksin Shinawatra that could see manager Sven-Goran Eriksson axed.

Napoli: Napoli have bought the half of midfielder Manuele Blasi's contract they did not already own from Juventus. The club also said they had renewed their co-ownership deal with the Turin side for Uruguay striker Marcelo Zalayeta.

Doornbos: Former Minardi F1 driver Robert Doornbos will drive the Milan car in the Superleague Formula single-seater series which starts in August with teams racing in the colours of selected soccer clubs. "I've always been a Milan fan," said Doornbos, whose aunt Jeanine was physio to Marco van Basten, Frank Rijkaard and Ruud Gullit when they played for the Serie A side.

Inzaghi: Milan are considering letting Filippo Inzaghi play as an overage player for Italy's Olympic side after he was left out of their Euro 2008 squad, club chief executive Adriano Galliani told reporters.

Mueller: Lyon's Swiss defender Patrick Mueller walked out on the French champions yesterday in a bid to salvage his Euro 2008 chances. Mueller left the club against the wishes of manager Alain Perrin and joined his Swiss team-mates in Lugano. Mueller, 31, has been caught up in a tug-of-war between Switzerland and Lyon who are both due to play important games today. Lyon face Paris SG in the French Cup final while the Swiss take on Slovakia in their last friendly before Wednesday's deadline for Euro 2008 squad nominations.

Juve fans: An Italian court has rejected a bid by a small group of Juventus fans to have the verdicts of Italy's 2006 match-fixing trial overturned. Table-toppers Juve were demoted in the scandal and Inter awarded the title.

Italian Cup: Inter captain Javier Zanetti and Roma counterpart Francesco Totti issued a joint statement appealing for calm ahead of today's final after authorities decided both sets of fans can attend the Rome showpiece.
