New coaches: Manager Cornel Dinu and trainer Cornel Talnar have jointly replaced Italian Walter Zenga as coach of Dinamo Bucharest, a club official said. "Dinu and Talnar will be not a temporary solution for Dinamo's bench," club president Nicolae Badea told Reuters. Champions Dinamo are having a miserable season and lie seventh in the league. Zenga quit at the weekend, after the side lost a league derby to Steaua Bucharest.

Chelsea: Chelsea have been charged by the FA for the behaviour of their players in Saturday's 2-0 Premier League victory at Derby County. Chelsea's players reacted angrily after their Ghana midfielder Michael Essien was sent off for violent conduct after appearing to strike Derby's Kenny Miller. The FA also said Essien's claim for wrongful dismissal had been rejected and that he would serve a three-match ban.

Valencia: Valencia have Serbia striker Nikola Zigic back in their squad after he played against Kazakhstan in the delayed Euro 2008 qualifier last Saturday. But coach Ronald Koeman is without injured midfielders Ruben Baraja and Miguel Angel Angulo, and defenders Alexis and Emiliano Moretti for the visit of Schalke 04 in Group B tonight.

Paez quits: Venezuela coach Richard Paez quit after six-and-a-half years in charge during which he transformed the team's fortunes, but had become subject to recent criticism by fans. His resignation came less than one week after the side came from behind three times to beat Bolivia 5-3 in a World Cup qualifier. The result left the Red Wine team, so-called because of the colour of their strip, fifth in the 10-team South American group with six points from four games. During the game in San Cristobal, the crowd called for Paez's resignation, insulted him, and demanded he substitute his midfielder son Ricardo.
