Figo: Inter midfielder Luis Figo has confirmed he will leave the club after months of speculation about his future. "I have made a difficult decision and I continue to think the same way. I have decided to leave top-level football," he said yesterday. "I have always been happy at Inter, and I would stay if it depended just on my feelings. It's the question of the moment. We will see."

In Scotland: Aberdeen boosted their UEFA Cup hopes as a late goal from Barry Nicholson earned a 1-1 draw at Hearts yesterday. Hearts took the lead on 14 minutes with Lithuanian Andrius Velicka firing home after Aberdeen lost possession in defence. Aberdeen hit back but had to wait until two minutes from the end when Craig Brewster played in Nicholson who shot into the roof of the net. Aberdeen remain third on 62 points from 36 games, four ahead of Hearts with two games to play.

Dinamo Bucharest champions: Dinamo Bucharest got the point they needed to clinch their 18th Romanian league title when they drew 1-1 at mid-table Politehnica Iasi on Saturday. Dinamo moved to 73 points, 13 clear of CFR Cluj with four games left. CFR Cluj beat Rapid Bucharest 3-2 while former champions Steaua Bucharest won 2-1 at Unirea Urziceni to stay third.

Rallying: Citroen's triple world champion Sebastien Loeb celebrated his third win in a row in Argentina yesterday to increase his lead over Ford's Marcus Gronholm to three points. The Frenchman finished the final super-special stage in Cordoba's soccer stadium 36.7 seconds clear of his Finnish rival.
