Riquelme: Argentina midfielder Juan Roman Riquelme has edged closer towards a move from Villarreal to Boca Juniors, the Primera Liga club said. "There isn't a definitive agreement yet. There is a favourable view of it from the three parties, but it is difficult economically because there are large quantities of money involved," Villarreal director Jose Manuel Llaneza told a news conference. Riquelme has not played for the side since falling out with them last season, but despite his lack of match practice he has produced some outstanding performances for the Argentine national side.

Luton: English League One club Luton Town will be docked 10 points after going into administration yesterday, the Football League said. The sanction will leave Luton, who were 17th of the 24 clubs, bottom of the division with nine points. Luton had earlier appointed three administrators to run the club until it can be sold. The FA this month issued more than 50 charges in connection with alleged breaches of transfer and agent rules at Luton over the last three years.

Matarrese: Italian league chief Antonio Matarrese has survived a vote of no confidence by three votes, Italian media reported. Clubs in Serie B, upset at a new television deal, had brought a motion against Matarrese at an extraordinary meeting. He lost the vote 27 to 13 but 30 votes were needed to remove him.

Redknapp: Portsmouth chief executive Peter Storrie has ruled manager Harry Redknapp out of the running to become the next England coach. Speaking on Sky Sport News Storrie said: "As far as we're concerned, we wouldn't give them (the FA) permission to talk to him. Harry's just signed a new contract with us, he's very happy, we've got a successful team, fantastic season and we're concentrating on that."

Bojinov: Rolando Bianchi believes his Manchester City team-mate Valeri Bojinov will return as strong as ever from his knee injury. "Valeri was very unlucky," the former Reggina striker told reporters yesterday. "I have experienced a similar injury in the past. I know how difficult it is to recover from these kind of injuries and how much he is suffering at the moment. He just has to be patient and I'm sure he will come back stronger than before."

Montella: Experienced Sampdoria striker Vincenzo Montella must undergo knee surgery, the club website said. He looks set to be out for two months.

Wiltord: France striker Sylvain Wiltord will return for Stade Rennes when they host leaders Olympique Lyon tomorrow, the team from Brittany said. The former Lyon forward has not played for a month because of a calf injury.

Violence: Five Serie A players have aired an anti-violence music video on television ahead of Catania's home game with Sicilian rivals Palermo on Dec. 2. A policeman was killed during riots outside last season's fixture in February while widespread fan violence hit the Italian game two weeks ago.

Navas: Sevilla winger Jesus Navas has extended his contract with the Primera Liga side until 2012, the club said on their website. The 21-year-old, whose original contract ran until 2009, has been one of the side's most exciting and influential players over the past two seasons.

Edmilson: Barcelona utility player Edmilson has criticised the lack of commitment from some members of the squad. "In our group of 23-25 players and the coaches we are like a family and on many occasions the family has a black sheep," the Brazilian told the TV3 television channel. "The world in which footballers live is different because money, success, fame, women and getting things easily means they lose the true values in life. Sometimes our job takes second place and players say 'I've got a meeting or an advertising commitment so I'm going to train quickly."
