Lotina: Former Real Sociedad boss Miguel Angel Lotina has agreed to take charge of Deportivo La Coruna next season. Lotina, who steered Deportivo's local rivals Celta Vigo into the Champions League in 2003, stepped down as Sociedad coach last week after the Basque side were relegated from the top flight for the first time in 40 years.

Copa America: The venue of one of the Copa America semi-finals has been switched little more than two weeks before the match is due to be played. The first semi-final, due to take place in Caracas on July 10, will now be played in Maracaibo the same day. The second semi will take place in Puerto Ordaz on July 11.

Alexis: Valencia said they will present Getafe's highly-rated 21-year-old centre-back Alexis as a new player tomorrow. Spanish media reported Alexis would sign a six-year contract.

Hibernian: Hibernian have signed Newcastle United's Alan O'Brien on a three-year contract. The winger made his international debut against Bolivia in an experimental Ireland side in May.

Semedo: Portugal's Under-21 defender Jose Semedo has joined English second division club Charlton from Sporting on a free transfer. Semedo had yet to make his debut for the Portuguese club.

Juventus: Juventus will visit Newcastle on July 29 and Premier League rivals Sunderland on August 4 as part of their pre-season preparations before playing in mini-tournaments along with Napoli, Inter and Milan.

Goerlitz: Bayern Munich defender Andreas Goerlitz will play next season on loan at promoted Karlsruhe SC. Goerlitz played twice for Germany in 2004 before suffering a knee injury that kept him out for over two years. He made his comeback for Bayern last season but has been loaned out to give him more match practice, Bayern said.
