Grosso: Italy full-back Fabio Grosso is leaving Serie A champions Inter for Olympique Lyon after passing a medical. Grosso is expected to cost Lyon a fee of seven million euros and sign a four-year contract. He played in Italy's World Cup final win over France in Berlin last year.

Bellamy: Wales captain Craig Bellamy has passed a medical and agreed personal terms for a move to West Ham but his 7.5-million-pound ($15.08-million) transfer from Premier League rivals Liverpool has been delayed. The east London club said yesterday that a private contractual issue between Bellamy and Liverpool had to be resolved before any transfer could be completed.

U-20 World Cup: Josmer Altidore scored twice to give the United States a 2-1 win over Brazil on Friday and secure their place in the last 16 of the Under-20 World Cup. Poland finished second in Group D after a 1-1 draw with South Korea left them with four points, one more than the Brazilians who must now hope they can take one of the four spots available to the best third-placed teams.

Carroll: Rangers have signed former West Ham and Manchester United goalkeeper Roy Carroll on a one year contract. Carroll will provide Allan McGregor and Graeme Smith with competition for the number one jersey at Ibrox.
