Splash and Fun Park will be facing court action over contaminated water found in a sink but the management insists its pools were always safe.

Public Health Superintendent Ray Busuttil said the park would be prosecuted over the breach of the Food Safety Act that regulates water supplies.

Park managing director Patrick Vella said the sink in question, in a lavatory at the far end of the place, was mistakenly attached to a second-hand water supply instead of the water mains.

The situation was rectified “within two hours” of it being flagged by the health authorities on September 6, he said.
