A replica Spitfire got a taste of a Battle of Britain scene when its undercarriage jammed and the pilot was forced to make a wheels up landing.

The incident happened at Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. The single engined WWII fighter circled for 20 minutes to burn off fuel before landing successfully on the grass.

No one was injured and the plane is repairable.
