Specialists from international fine art auction house Bonhams will be in Malta to offer expert advice and free jewellery valuation services on January 13 at the Phoenicia Hotel in Floriana.

Visiting jewellery specialist Sabrina O’Cock and Bonhams Rome representative Emma dalla Libera look forward to discovering what kind of hidden treasures, gems, and jewels they might find.

Bonhams hopes to discover important diamonds and gemstones, such as Kashmir or Burmese sapphires, natural pearls, and signed period jewellery on the valuation day. Graeme Thompson, Director of Jewellery, Bonhams Asia, comments: "The demand for fine signed jewellery, diamonds, coloured diamonds and precious stones is growing fast as connoisseurs look for one-of-a-kind gems that best represent their sophisticated taste."

Bonhams handles signed fine jewellery by coveted houses such as Cartier, Tiffany, and Van Cleef & Arpels, and unique works by artist-jewellers such as Andrew Grima—the father of British contemporary jewellery who has Maltese origins. Bonhams held its first sale dedicated to Grima in December 2006.

Bonhams is one of the leading auction houses in the world with over 60 specialist departments and a team of world-renowned experts.
