The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Anġlu Farrugia, in a ruling this evening said said that replies to parliamentary questions have to be confined to the points raised in the questions and such replies should be clear and without excessive length.

He delivered his ruling after issues raised last week.

Dr Farrugia said he was basing his ruling on Standing Orders, Erkine May and House of Commons rules.
